Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of Bad Day Button, an accountless, local-first emotional check-in app.

Eligibility and accountless use

You must be legally able to agree to these Terms where you live. Bad Day Button does not provide a conventional account system. It does not ask you to create a username, password, profile, or social identity.

You are responsible for using the app and your device lawfully and for keeping access to your device secure.

What the app is and is not

Bad Day Button is a reflection tool for noticing your days and local patterns. It is not medical advice, therapy, diagnosis, treatment, emergency support, or crisis support. Do not rely on it for urgent help.

If someone may hurt themselves or someone else, call local emergency services. In the United States, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Your local information

Check-ins, optional notes, local patterns, reminder preferences, and iPhone Home Screen quick check-ins are stored on your device. Optional notes are local-only and are not included in anonymous aggregate sharing.

You can use Settings > Delete My Info to delete local check-in history, optional notes, local preferences, the anonymous install ID, and the local reminder. Because Bad Day Button is accountless, deletion is device/install-based rather than profile-based. If anonymous sharing has created remote data, the app requests deletion of associated raw anonymous signals and the related Firebase Anonymous Authentication identity before it reports local deletion complete.

Optional anonymous sharing

Anonymous sharing is off by default. When you turn it on on iOS, the app may send a limited anonymous check-in signal to help form broad Collective Mood patterns. It does not upload optional notes, names, email addresses, profiles, its local install ID, or exact GPS coordinates. A separate country setting is off by default and applies only to later shared check-ins. Collective Mood is designed for aggregate emotional weather, not individual people or map pins.

Patterns+ subscription

Patterns+ is an Apple-managed auto-renewable monthly subscription for deeper local pattern views when it is offered. The price and subscription terms shown by Apple are authoritative.

Payment is charged to your Apple account after Apple confirms your purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it through Apple subscription settings at least 24 hours before the current billing period ends. Apple manages billing, renewal, cancellation, payment methods, refunds, and purchase restoration. You can use Restore Purchases from the Patterns+ screen to restore an eligible Apple purchase.

Bad Day Button does not promise a free trial, discount, outcome, or feature availability unless Apple's purchase screen explicitly presents it. Deleting local app data does not cancel an Apple subscription.

Acceptable use

Do not use Bad Day Button to violate the law, interfere with the app or its services, attempt to bypass security controls, submit prohibited material through an anonymous-sharing service, or misrepresent yourself as another person. Do not attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, or misuse the app's services.

Intellectual property

Bad Day Button and its content, design, software, and trademarks are owned by or licensed to CEGE ENTERPRISES LLC and are protected by applicable law. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the app as provided to you. They do not transfer ownership of the app or its intellectual property.

Availability, changes, and termination

We may change, suspend, or discontinue app features when reasonably necessary, including to protect users, comply with law, or maintain the service. We may terminate or restrict access where permitted by law if these Terms are violated. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or a particular emotional, health, or life outcome.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CEGE ENTERPRISES LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the app. Any liability that cannot legally be excluded is limited as required by applicable law.

Governing law and changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Florida, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where local consumer law requires otherwise. We may update these Terms; the effective date above identifies the current version.
